Your Support Makes a Difference
Avery’s Outreach was created to aid children and young adults on the autism spectrum. We started this mission because of Avery, our charismatic and happy son, who was diagnosed with Autism at age 3. We saw firsthand how the right resources such as special schools, therapies, one-on-one support, and camps significantly helped Avery be his true self. These did wonders for Avery’s confidence and growth and Avery’s Outreach wants all children and young adults to have these opportunities. The purpose of Avery’s Outreach is to be a resource to parents who need help financially or just navigating your way through to find the support for your child. We want all God’s children to be who they are, thrive, and prosper.
Avery’s Outreach is aware, through our own personal experience or through working with parents within the autistic community, that children and young adults may miss out on certain opportunities to improve their lives due to a lack of resources. Opportunities such as speech/OT therapy, one-on-one attention, additional support bathing, dressing, or safety, and even technology needs. Parents all have that same desire to see their child thrive and at times it can be overwhelming to navigate your way through what’s specifically needed and the support that’s available. Avery’s Outreach is a resource to help parents and give their children what they need to help them be successful.
Avery’s Outreach gives out monthly gifts to autistic children and young adults in need. We work hard to grant all wishes and support the autistic community in the best way possible.

Avery is laughter and love! He is the son of Drew and Gwen Horter and brother to Hayden and Griffin. At the age of 3, he was diagnosed with autism. In addition to being on the spectrum, he has low muscle tone and foot and lower limb pronation, which inhibits some physical activities. Avery is very verbal and loves to sing and talk about his movie collection!
Avery brings a smile to everyone who meets him!
“We absolutely have loved having him here!”
“Avery is an absolute joy to be around! We are so proud of all of the growth he has made at the Heidt Center of Excellence over the past five+ years! He truly brightens students’ and staff’s days by his dynamic and shining personality. His attitude on a daily basis is enough to bring a smile to all those he meets. Avery is simply a wonderful individual whom I am honored to have had the privilege to interact with each day.”
